What is dental bonding?
When a person has small dental flaws like chipped, cracked, or misshapen teeth, our dentist may recommend dental bonding. During the procedure, a tooth-colored resin is applied to the surface of the tooth or teeth to restore their beauty. The shade of the resin material can be selected to match that of your natural teeth or a shade can be selected that lightens the appearance of the teeth.

Am I a good candidate?
Dental bonding can be used to correct many cosmetic flaws in the smile. However, if you have teeth that are crooked or gapped because of a misaligned bite, Dr. Reeve Abraben may recommend that you visit your orthodontist.

What should I expect during treatment?
Once the shade of the dental bonding material has been selected, the surface of the tooth to be treated will be etched. This will allow the bonding material to attach properly to the tooth. The bonding material is then applied, molded, and smoothed. A special light may be used to harden the material. Then, the material will be trimmed and shaped further. The final restoration will be polished.
