Caring for baby teeth can be a bit overwhelming and confusing at times, but there is no need to worry—we are here to help you! To help your child grow into the pristine smile they deserve, our Lake City Family Dental Center, PA team recommends that you do the following things:

· Before your baby’s teeth even grow into place, wash their gums daily with a moist gauze pad or washcloth. This will help eliminate the plaque from the smile and further prevent gum disease and tooth decay.
· Once the teeth grow in, brush them twice a day. As you brush, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Make sure you do not use any more toothpaste than the size of a small grain of rice.
· For children between the ages of 3 and 6, use a bigger amount of toothpaste as you brush, but don’t use any more than the size of a pea. Your child is more than welcome to brush on their own, but please supervise as they do so and make sure they do not swallow the paste.
· When your child has two teeth that grow in next to each other, make sure you floss between them at least once a day.

If you need help completing the mentioned tasks or if you have any questions, please remember that you can always call 386.752.1342 and talk to Dr. Reeve Abraben or our caring dental team. We are here to assist you in any way we can, and we look forward to hearing from you!
